You'd be hard-pressed to find two more quintessentially American creations than comics and Hip-Hop, twin styles of expression that share numerous influences and have converged time and again over the last five decades: rappers and graffiti artists utilize superheroic imagery; producers create new universes with sound and rhythm; comic creators and animators employ Hip-Hop's aesthetics and attitude; and both forms continually sample and remix familiar elements to create vital new work.
